TOM'S VISION OF VISVESWARAYA

              TOM's view of education is truly great and not restricted to construction of college buildings alone. What he visualizes is a fully fledged educational campus with all the modern facilities and an environment for moulding great personalities through education. That is explained by his decision to use all of his hard earned resources for constructing good Hostels for both girls & boys in addition to constructing auditorium to take care of cultural activities and playgrounds for the growing children. This shows how much TOM cares for the students who study in this campus.

                The versatile personality of Tom is acclaimed by one and all. He is truly called the Kulaguru of AMIE education. The Institution of Engineers (India) accorded him reception on 15th September 2006 at the Kerala state centre, Trivandrum for the outstanding services he has rendered for the spread of AMIE education. The Akalakkunnam Grama Panchayath, the Village CB, several Clubs etc. have accorded him receptions for the same reason.    

            Today the whole campus at Mattakara, true to Gandhiji's ideals of Gram-Swaraj, is spread over 15 acres of land and occupies an important place on the educational map of India. This campus today provides education to over 1000 students from all over India. TOM's contribution to development of higher education in India can be considered a very significant contribution by an INDIVIDUAL.

What TOM does with his time, energy and hard earned money for the higher education was solely due to his conviction that education emancipates man. It also shows that a single individual can achieve great things, if he decides. TOM has taken it upon himself such task. The result is we have Visveswaraya Institute of engineering Technology today at Mattakara.

            This Institute also employs more than 150 teaching & non-teaching staff. So far, hundreds of students have graduated through this Institution and have achieved tremendous successes in professional life and are all contributing to the development of the nation.
